I’m authoring this post while traveling to the West coast for a number of meetings with the teams at VMware & NetApp. On Tuesday, October 4th, I’ll be stepping out in order to attending Oracle Open World. I’ll be participating in the first half of a blogger meet-up scheduled in the NetApp booth from 1:00 – 2:00. During this event it’s likely we may be visited by Bob Goldsan of VMware and representatives from Cisco and Green Mountain Power.
From 1:30-2:00 I’ll join Dave Vellante and John Furrier of Wikibon in The Cube for a discussion around Virtualizing Oracle. The Cube will be broadcasting live during the duration of OOW, so make sure to tune in.
It appears my schedule is free from 2:00 – 4:00, which I’m hoping to chat with a number of attendees. If you have time please stop by the NetApp booth, it’s #1501. I’m eager to listen to real world strategies, considerations and success stories around virtualizing Oracle Database Applications.
Before I sign off, if Oracle’s licensing has stalled or prevented you from virtualizing your instances on VMware, check out this post by Nick Howell for some detailed clarification to answer your questions. The ‘Datacenter Dude’ is on a roll! The NetApp Communities is also packed with OWW goodness.
